13 nights till Halloween 2026

I just love autumn and Halloween! I enjoy the colours of autumn immensely, the different shades of brown, ochre, red and orange! It might have something to do with the fact that I was born in October 😊! I also love Halloween! Sitting next to the wood stove, rain slashing against the windows, the howling wind in the chimney, a hot cacao, an interesting knit and watching a not too scary movie!

What is a Halloween Yarn Calendar?

It's a calendar to countdown the days until Halloween. It starts on the 19^th of October until the 31st of October (All Hallows' Eve). There will be an individually wrapped package every day containing some yarny gorgeousness, 13 days in a row, in the form of a beautiful hand dyed (mini-)skein, some sweets, a small gift, all exclusively dyed, designed and made for this calendar. The kit comes with a beautiful project bag!

This year there are two different themes to choose from: ‘Fright Night 4’ and ‘Disney Villains’.

Fright Night 4

As a child/teenager I didn’t like to watch horror movies at all! I was much too scared. Nowadays, I have come to learn to enjoy a good scary movie, although I still have lots of jump scares! The colours of the skeins will be inspired by different horror movies. Please see the added colours schemes that I will use for inspiration. All skeins are individually wrapped and numbered. The skeins will not be dyed in a traditional fade, but they will be arranged in a beautiful colour sequence. You may expect semi-solid, solid, speckled, variegated or layered (mini-)skeins.

Disney Villains

When the children were little we watched Mickey’s House of Villains many times; such a funny and entertaining film! Thinking about this year’s theme, that movie immediately popped into my mind. I found some lovely pictures of 13 ‘Villains’ and am quite excited about the different moodboards! They will make fantastic knitwear items!

All skeins are individually wrapped and numbered. You may expect semi-solid, solid, speckled, variegated or layered (mini-) skeins. This yarn calendar will be organized in a beautiful colour sequence!

Different yarn options:

• Merino sock (75% sw merino - 25% nylon; 100gr./ 425m. - 50grs/210m. 20gr./85m.)
• HT merino sock (80% sw merino – 20% nylon; 100gr./365m. – 20gr./73m.
• BFL sock (75% sw BFL - 25% nylon; 100gr./ 425m. - 50grs/210m. - 20gr./85m.)
• Basic sock (75% sw virgin wool – 25% nylon; 100gr./ 420m. - 50grs/210m.)
• Singles (100% sw merino; 20gr./ 73.2m. - 100gr./366)

Payment

There are different payment options. You can pay in full. Everyone who orders before the 10th of April and pays in full will get 5% discount (use code: FRIGHTNIGHTS during checkout). After the 10^th of April regular prices will be charged. It is also possible to pay in two instalments.

The instalments scheme works as follows. You pay a deposit of €50 (non-refundable) when you sign up. The first instalments is due on the 31st of May; the second on the 31st of July. I will send you a payment request (via PayPal) on these days (approx.). Once purchased, I will begin ordering supplies straight away. I’m afraid I cannot accept cancellations. No exceptions.

What is the closing date?

Due to the fact that I offer different options for the calendars and because of the different yarn festivals I will be attending this fall, quantities are limited this year. I have already started developing colourways as I want to start dyeing as soon as possible. This means that you can sign up until the 14^th of April 2026. There will be another pre-order on the 18^th of May 2026.

When will the yarn calendars be shipped?

The Netherlands, Europe, Canada, Australia and the US: August 2026

The pictures are of course an indication, the real magic often happens while dyeing. I use these colour schemes for inspiration and this is very subjective and also a matter of taste. My interpretation might be completely different from your ideas or opinions. Buying a 'mystery' kit is always a risk.
