Tour de Fleece 2024 - La Douce France - yarn edition

Most spinners have heard of the Tour de Fleece, which is held every year on Ravelry. Ravelry is an international platform for knitters and crocheters. During the three weeks of the Tour de France spinners happily tread or spin on their wheel or spindle.

Like last year, there will also be a yarn edition again! Overall theme of this year’s Tour de Fleece yarn calendar is ‘La Douce France’. ‘La Douce France’ in short means all the wonderful things of the French way of living; good food, good living and all the things you can think of. Think of éclairs, macarons, lavender, wonderful soap, chansons, the French countryside and so on. The calendar has the format of the Trivial Pursuit game, so there will be questions and you may guess the answers. It will be a lot of fun! Afterwards you can save the questions and answers for your next pub quiz on New Year’s Eve!

The game leads you through France, it’s cuisine, culture and famous sites and in the end awaits the Victory at the Champs Elysées! There is a reward waiting, which cannot be revealed yet ;-).

What can I expect?

• 21 mini skeins (10 or 20grs.) in:

• Merino sock (75% sw merino - 25% nylon; 10gr./42.5m.; 20gr./85m.)
• BFL sock (75% sw merino - 25% nylon; 20gr./85m.)
• Glitter sock 75% sw merino 20% nylon - 5% silver stellina sparkle 10gr./40m.; 20gr./80m.)individually wrapped and numbered;

• Goodies;
• Knitting pattern
• Coffee, tea, chocolate and sweets.

Ór a 3 x 100gr option:

• 3 x 100grs skeins in bfl sock, merino sock or basic sock;
• Goodies;
• Knitting pattern
• Coffee, tea, chocolate and sweets.

On some days the cyclists rest and on those days you don't knit or spin.

There is an option to order an extra 100gr skeins (at additional cost) in addition to the yarn kit, so that you have enough yarn to use for a bigger project.

What colours can I expect?

Gorgeous darker and lighter colours, beautifully arranged in a fade (see pictures).

Each mini skein will be hand dyed in an exclusive colourway. You can expect solids, semi solids, variegated or speckled skeins. The skeins will be dyed in a fade, so you can start knitting right away. The colours can be knitted in the order they are opened or you can mix them in different ways.

These pictures are of course an indication, the real magic often happens while dyeing. I use these pictures for inspiration and this is very subjective and also a matter of taste. My interpretation might be completely different from your ideas or opinions. Buying a 'mystery' kit is always a risk.

This calendar is a pre-order and I will keep this listing open until the 15th of April 2024 or until they've sold out.

When will the yarn box be shipped?

It will be shipped in May 2024. As soon as it is send, you will receive a track & trace code.
